Procedure

Making of the Rocket:
  1. Trace three fins onto Bulsa wood, and cut out them out.
  2. Set fins aside.
  3. Cut out two rings out the thick foam, so they will fit around the dime roller.
  4. Poke two small holes across from each other at the top of the dime roller, and slide one end of the bent paperclip though both holes.
  5. Bend over that end of the paperclip so it runs parallel to the dime roller.
  6. Keep the long end of the straightened paperclip running down parallel to the dime roller. Tape around the top of the dime roller to secure the paperclip.
  7. Glue the foam rings on the outside of the paperclip at the top of the dime roller, and a quarter of the way from the bottom of the dime roller.
  8. Set aside to dry.
  9. Using the knife, shave a nose cone out of the styrofoam, making sure there is an edge on the bottom end that fits inside the saran wrap tube.
  10. Paint nose cone, and fins.
  11. Set aside to dry.
  12. Take the dime roller with glued on rings, and glue the outside of the rings.
  13. Slide the dime roller into the saran wrap tube.
  14. Once in place, set aside to dry.
  15. Paint the outside of saran wrap tube. and set aside to dry.
  16. Take the plastic bag, and cut a hole in the top of it. Cut the outside of the bag, so its length is the same as the length of the rocket.
  17. Cut 8 pieces of thread, and make a dime sized loop in one end of each piece.
  18. Tape the loop to the plastic bag.
  19. Tie the loose ends of the string.
  20. Tape the tied end to the elastic band, somewhere in the middle of the band.
  21. Take two pieces of paper that are about an inch thick, and a finger length long, and put glue down the middle. Glue both ends of the rubber band to the paper.
  22. Fold the paper and rubber bands, and tape around the folded rubber band.
  23. Tape one edge of the rubber band to the bottom of the nose cone, and the other edge of the rubber band to the inside of the saran wrap tube.
  24. Glue fins and straw onto the saran wrap tube, and set aside to dry.

Launching the Rocket:
  1. Add baby powder and wadding to the inside of the rocket.
  2. Insert engine into dime roller, and bend paperclip over the bottom, but not covering the exhaust hole.
  3. Attatch ignitor to the bottom of rocket.
  4. Place rocket onto launch pad, by sliding it through the straw.
  5. Electronically ignite the rocket.
  6. Record data.
  7. Retrieve the rocket once it has landed.
